"Imagine" is a song written and performed by the English musician John Lennon. The best-selling single of his solo career, its lyrics encourage the listener to imagine a world at peace without the barriers of borders or the divisions of religion and nationality, and to consider the possibility that the focus of humanity should be living a life unattached to material possessions.

After his marriage to Yoko Ono in 1969, he changed his name to John Ono Lennon

Lennon revealed a rebellious nature and acerbic wit in his music, writing, drawings, on film and in interviews. Controversial through his political and peace activism, he moved to Manhattan in 1971, where his criticism of the Vietnam War resulted in a lengthy attempt by Richard Nixon's administration to deport him, while some of his songs were adopted as anthems by the anti-war movement and the larger counterculture.

Lennon disengaged himself from the music business in 1975 to raise his sons.

 He was murdered three weeks after its release.

 He was 40 years-old.


He had two sons.

Al día siguiente, Ono emitió una declaración, diciendo: «No hay funeral para John.» Ono concluyó su declaración con las palabras, John amaba y rezaba por la raza humana. «Por favor, oren por él mismo.» Su cuerpo fue incinerado en el Cementerio Ferncliff en Hartsdale, Nueva York. Ono esparció sus cenizas en Central Park, Nueva York, donde más tarde se creó el memorial Strawberry Fields
